INDICATIONS:
- Helps in parturition if cervix is dilated .
- Stimulates expulsion of placenta .
- Control post- partum haemorrhages after parturition . Induces milk let-down
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
- Ewes and Goats: 2- 10 IU Oxytocin (0.2- 1 ml Montocin) ,by deep IM or SC route.
- Mare and Cow: 10- 40 IU Oxytocin (1- 4 ml Montocin),
by deep IM or SC route. - For IV, dilute 10 times in the drip and administer only
one fourth of the above dosage mentioned.
WITHDRAWAL TIME:
- Meat and Milk: 12 hours
