Cypermethrin is a semisynthetic pyrethroid. It acts on minute channels in nervous system through which sodium is pumped to cause excitation of neurons. It prevents the sodium channels from closing, resulting in continual nerve impulse transmission, tremors, and eventually, death of parasite.
